The Story and Plot: A Race Against Time to Stop Terror Attacks
Indian Police Force follows DCP Kabir Malik (Sidharth Malhotra) of the Delhi Police Special Cell as he races against time to stop a series of terrorist attacks planned by an Indian Mujahideen terrorist code-named Zarar. Zarar, living under the fake identity of Haider with his wife Nafisa, has already executed a series of bomb blasts in Delhi on the Delhi Police Raising Day.
Kabir teams up with his senior officer Joint CP Vikram Bakshi (Vivek Oberoi) and Gujarat ATS Chief Tara Shetty (Shilpa Shetty) to get to the bottom of the bombings. Through investigation and informants, they identify one of Zarar’s associates, Shadab. This leads to an intense encounter where Vikram gets fatally shot after saving a hostage child.
With Vikram dead and the team shattered, Kabir faces conflict with Tara and gets removed from the case. But after more attacks occur in Jaipur, Kabir returns to collaborate with Tara in stopping Zarar, who is now planning even bigger attacks in Goa with new accomplices. What follows is a breathtaking cat-and-mouse chase as Kabir races against time to uncover Zarar’s plots and stop the attacks.
The exciting story and plot filled with twists and turns will keep audiences hooked and invested in Kabir’s mission to capture Zarar at all costs. The series tackles relevant themes of terrorism, loss, and corruption in a gripping fashion.
Captivating Performances by the Ensemble Cast
Indian Police Force boasts of a talented ensemble cast featuring some of Bollywood’s top names:
- Sidharth Malhotra as the determined DCP Kabir Malik, who becomes obsessed with capturing Zarar after his senior Vikram is killed. Sidharth brings an intensity and gravitas perfect for displaying Kabir’s grit and heroic bravery.
- Shilpa Shetty Kundra as the no-nonsense Gujarat ATS Chief Tara Shetty, who collaborates with Kabir despite initial friction. Shilpa portrays the tough cop role convincingly.
- Vivek Oberoi as Joint CP Vikram Bakshi, Kabir’s mentor whose tragic death spurs him to capture Zarar at all costs. Vivek showcases both warmth as a mentor and intensity as a dedicated cop.
- Mayyank Taandon as Zarar/Haider, the cold-blooded terrorist behind the bombing attacks. His menacing portrayals adds to the thrill.
- Other cast members like Nikitin Dheer, Isha Talwar, Shweta Tiwari, and more essay their roles competently as well.
The compelling performances by the ensemble cast make the characters feel real, relatable and drive the series forward with dynamism. The confrontations between Kabir and Zarar, and Kabir and Tara’s initial friction, are especially well-enacted.
Breathtaking Action and Thrilling Sequences
Being a Rohit Shetty project, Indian Police Force promises to deliver thrilling and larger-than-life action sequences – car chases, gun battles, explosions and stunts – that will get audiences to the edge of their seats. Filmed across multiple locations including Delhi, Jaipur and Goa, the action choreography and scale of the sequences stand out.
Some highlights include the initial encounter sequence where Vikram gets shot protecting a child hostage, the chase through the streets of Jaipur to catch Zarar’s accomplices, and the final confrontation between Kabir and Zarar in Bangladesh. The action is fast-paced, gritty and very engaging throughout, complemented by background scores and songs. Fans of Shetty’s high-octane brand of action will surely be delighted.
Insight into the Inner Workings of Indian Law Enforcement
Unlike many action titles, Indian Police Force also strives to provide an authentic peek into the workings of Indian law enforcement and anti-terror agencies like the Special Cell, Gujarat ATS and RAW.
The diligent investigations, reliance on informants, internal bureaucracy and red tape, turf wars between agencies, and personal sacrifices involved in maintaining law and order are well-portrayed. The obstacles faced by the cops ranging from political pressure to lack of resources are also highlighted.
Kabir and the other police officers are shown to have human, vulnerable sides beyond just being action heroes. The difficulties of their job take a toll on their family relationships. The series gives a more grounded view into the human cost borne by those serving in the police forces.
Standout Aspects That Make It Engaging
Here are some of the highlights and strengths of Indian Police Force that make it an engaging and standout watch:
- Top notch production values: With a reported budget of Rs 100 crore, the production quality in terms of cinematography, editing, art design and VFX is slick and polished. The visual appeal adds to the immersive viewing experience.
- Pacy narrative format: Unlike conventional long episodic formats, Indian Police Force opts for a half-hour, 7-episode format totaling 3.5 hours. This ensures brisk pacing and relentless progression of the plot.
- Musical score: Songs composed by Lijo George and DJ Chetas like the patriotic “Swag Saha Nahi Jaaye” provide the rousing, motivational soundtrack to go with the theme and action set-pieces.
- Connects to Cop Universe: The series incorporates characters like Tara Shetty from previous Shetty cop films, building intrigue for fans of the ‘Cop Universe’.
- Socially relevant plot: The terrorism and law enforcement themes anchor the series in a socially relevant landscape, beyond just being entertainment.
